One: I wrote and filmed If Only These Arms Could Reach Across This Empty Space (the first the 10 word 3 minute songs)yesterday. Unfortunately, I cannot find the cable that goes with the camera, so I have yet to upload the song to my computer. Soon enough I'll get it up there.
Two: On this, the first day of my twenty-fifth year, I quit my job. I told them I'd keep showing up until the project to which I've been assigned for the last year and 4 months is over. (That should be in about 2 weeks.)
I don't like unnecessary words. (Can't you tell by the title?) I like to convey my message in as few words as possible.
This is why music is my favorite form of self-expression. I can place a single thought at the center of 5 minutes of mood music, and make you fully understand the emotion I had when the thought came to me.
I love that.
10 words over 3 minutes and you understand part of my brain. That doesn't happen with other forms of art. You would have to study a painting to understand it. You don't even have to pay attention to music to understand it.
For each of the next 10 days (including today) I am going to write one song that is exactly 3 minutes and contains exactly 10 words. When I'm done, I'll figure out a way to post the songs (YouTube maybe?) and let you hear what I've done.
So...who doesn't like prominent abdominal muscles?
My chair at work looks like this:
It's quite comfy. You can set it to lean back at whatever angle you want. It's nice.....too nice.
Today I set it back as far as it will go so I don't get to lean back at all without looking like the laziest of all office employees. (I may in fact be the laziest of office employees, but I don't want everyone to know it) It forces me to sit up and hold myself there.
